Linux administrator

For our client, a company with a team of highly technical, software and cyber engineers with strong experience in machine vision, ML/AI, mobile robotics and big data management, we are looking for suitable candidates for the position of Linux administrator.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and create installation instructions and deployment strategies
• Provisioning and securing of edge devices
• Remote administration (updates and monitoring) of the edge systems
• Maintaining cloud and on-premise infrastructure (mainly Kubernetes)
• Optimizing virtualization together with the development team

Position requirements:

• Strong experience with the following:
• Linux administration
• Virtualization technologies, mainly containers (Docker)
• Remote device management (updates and monitoring)

An advantage is experience with the following:

• Kubernetes and Cloud platforms
• Able to script to automate and configure solutions to common problems (eg. Ansible)
• Deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools
• Expertise with coding languages or scripting methodologies to deploy software in both edge and cloud environments
• Implementing changes, supporting and managing internal IT infrastructure (VMWare), networking and security, firewalls, virtual and cloud infrastructure
• Ability to organize information, analyze it and apply effective problem-solving skills to technical proposals

Minimum education and work experience required:

• Min. Bachelor's degree in computer science, or relevant work experience
• 2+ years experience with Linux administration
• 2+ years experience in cloud maintenance (eg. GCP, AWS, Azure)
